The past day or so I’ve been listening to a bunch of music I liked in my youth. Although I listened to a lot of pop and the odd gothic band, I was also known as a bit of of weirdo at my (all girl, christian, grammar) school for liking some rap. Sometimes I tuned in to the Radio 1 rap show with Tim Westwood before he was ever pimping cars. Sure I wasn’t from any ‘hood and knew nothing about the proper scene but there are still a bunch of tunes that went pretty mainstream and I still occasionally like listening to today.
