I love Shazam. At least I love the Shazam app. I’ve waved my phone around in the air numerous times in clubs, shops and by the tv to find out what song is playing. It’s magic, no idea how it works but it helps me discover “new” music that might have passed my life by. Today (technically yesterday now I guess) I went on a mini spending spree with an Amazon voucher left over from Christmas. One band’s album I downloaded, only because it’s rare and cost £31 for a used CD version, was one I Shazam’d just over a week ago. A burlesque act were performing to a track that sounded like a twisted fairground ride. Turned out it was called Secret by The Pierces:-
They’re an American sister duo who’ve been writing music for a few years. They are slightly removed from my mostly gothy/rock musical preferences but there’s still something about their music that appeals. An innocence mixed with darker lyrics. My favourite track so far is “Turn On Billie”. Pretty and talented, makes ya sick ;)
